The first verse "been there, done that, messed around, I'm having fun,...I'll never let you sweep me off my feet" is in the present day. She has been deeply hurt by a past relationship and is now out having meaningless relations. The second verse "I won't let you in again the messages I've tried to send, my info. just not going in" is that "special" person is trying to come back and she is telling him/her no, she is not going to get back together with them but they are persistant. She continues to have meaningless relations to "break away from something that is more, I'm not to not to love until its cheap" in the 3rd verse to try to remove herself further from that relationship that didn't work out. He/she then says bad things about her and the question "come out to play when your hurt?" This is what she is doing and may be what that person is saying about her and she isn't denying it or saying it's true just expressing that certain things should be left unsaid because maybe that is how she is dealing with the loss. This person coming back just adds confusion but she's going to stand her ground. Great song.

I really love this song. The meaning to me, is about having deep feelings for someone who just cannot commit and just continues to mess with your head. Now she is taking a stand, She's bulletproof to the games and the B.S. and over it! The song is a declaration, a way to take control of a situation that you feel you have no control over.

I'm going through a situation right now that really relates to this song. How I inturrperted this song was the singer got involved with a guy who was totally ok with physical stuff (kinda like a friends with benefits deal), but the singer thought that something more could and would come out of this and become an actual relationship. I know alot of people inturrperted "dirty words" as being mean things that the guy was saying, but I took it as being sexual stuff the guy was saying. She then realized that all of his words were just so he could get physical stuff out of her. She was wrapped up in loving him, when all he was thinking about was being sexually involved. So now she's getting out of this situation because she realized it wasn't where she wanted to be. I know it says something different in the lyrics here but I always heard one of the lines as "I'm not turned off to love until it's cheap," meaning she has nothing against love until it's only cheap and physical. Now she's saying she'll be bulletproof, as in she's not going to listen to this guys pretty words without knowing his true intentions behind what he's saying.

This song means that a guy broke her heart so many times that she's so annoyed and she's saying that the next guy that comes around and breaks her heart she'll be Bullet Proof

A great, catchy electro-pop song! Which I think is just about being resilient to people's advances or actions towards the singer.

It could be about a relationship that went wrong somehow but she was "too proud to walk away" from it at first. Now, she feels more hardened by her experience with her past lover because they said nasty things about her and it all went sour. She's "burning bridges" with the guy and keeping away from him instead of trying to stay friends. She's saying she's going to be bulletproof in the future to love and not stick around if a guy says nasty things anymore. I think it's just about becoming more cautious in love and learning to respect yourself and having self worth.

personally i think this song is about someone getting fucked over in a relationship and "dirty words" and so on have been said and shes just like well fuck it and then they become "bulletproof" to relationships, and no longer want to be in love or in that situation anymore, thus are like "i wont let you in again", so go out and have fun, and enjoy being single - hence the "not to , not to love until its cheap" - aka a cheap, dirty, one nightstand, thats all she needs atm. :) and killwestlife dude, theres far worse songs out than laroux, at least she can fuckin sing!
