Arcardy Lyrics
1,2,1,2,3,4
In Arcadie, your life trips along
It's pure and simple as the shepherd's song
Seraphic pipes along the way in Arcady
In Arcady, In Arcady
Never saw I such a scene
Such fair maids upon such a molten green
They employ their holiday with dance and game
And things I may never name
In Arcady, In Arcady
You said he was your teacher
Taught you true and wise
But now you know more than your teacher
I see nothing but cool self-regard in your eyes
In Arcady
So you see how twisted it becomes
See how quickly twisted it becomes
When the cat gut binds my ankles to your bedstead
That ain't love, no that ain't love
Said he was your teacher
Taught you true and wise
Now you know more than your teacher
I see nothing but cool self-regard in your eyes
In Arcady, In Arcady
In Arcady (In Arcady)
In Arcady your life trips along
Pure and simple as the shepherd's song
Seraphic pipes along the way in Arcady
In Arcady, In Arcady, In Arcady, In Arcady
In Arcadie, your life trips along
It's pure and simple as the shepherd's song
Seraphic pipes along the way in Arcady
In Arcady, In Arcady
Such fair maids upon such a molten green
They employ their holiday with dance and game
And things I may never name
In Arcady, In Arcady
Taught you true and wise
But now you know more than your teacher
I see nothing but cool self-regard in your eyes
In Arcady
See how quickly twisted it becomes
When the cat gut binds my ankles to your bedstead
That ain't love, no that ain't love
Taught you true and wise
Now you know more than your teacher
I see nothing but cool self-regard in your eyes
In Arcady, In Arcady
In Arcady your life trips along
Pure and simple as the shepherd's song
Seraphic pipes along the way in Arcady
In Arcady, In Arcady, In Arcady, In Arcady

such a beautiful song i think it could be a bout to be in a place where you dont belong, and i think he is speaking to himself. example:
"You said he was your teacher Taught you so true and so wise"
Its about a perfect place, where there is no money or jobs or crime. It is the place he has been trying to get to since he was 14. He created it in his mind to help ease the pain of being so left out by his peers at school.
Theres alot more to that troubled genious that meets the eye. Hes the bomb.
I read one review that mentioned drug references and "Seraphic Pipes" but thats rubbish; Seraphic Pipes means the Pipes Angels play, specifically the highest order of angels. Arcadia is "the realm of the infinite", the poetic paradise Pete imagines lyrically, hence angelic music
Peter was not left out at school. He was the most popular boy in the year, and had a very successful school career. Arcady explains why Pete never did any of it for the money. Arcady is the place that Pete and Carl were heading towards before they signed at Rough Trade, the place, where there are no rules, everything is free, a perfect life for the great poet that we know as Pete Doherty
doherty's ambrosia (out of billy liar) basically, i think x
