Broken Love Song Lyrics
Take a broken love song
Keep it by your side
Never be lonely
Find a place to hide
By the west way
Inside the scrubs
How long must we wait?
For they're killing us?
Killing us
Oh
They are the loneliest
They are the loneliest
They are the loneliest
They are the loneliest
Still
Through my cell window
Hear the loft boys sing
Come on you R's
Carried on the wind
Every morning
I'll be singing
Like a caged bird who might say
John, Paul, George and Ringo
Help me pass the hours away
Free as a bird
Would I be
Another dawn creeps up on me
On me
Ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah
They are the loneliest
They are the loneliest
They are the loneliest
They are the loneliest
Still
Letters from faceless haters
That'd love to
See my swinging in my cell
Oh I never saw a man
who looked like such a wsitful eye,
as the fear f blue prisoners
call the sky
They are the loneliest
They are the loneliest
They are the loneliest
They are the loneliest
Still
Keep it by your side
Never be lonely
Find a place to hide
Inside the scrubs
How long must we wait?
For they're killing us?
Killing us
They are the loneliest
They are the loneliest
They are the loneliest
They are the loneliest
Still
Hear the loft boys sing
Come on you R's
Carried on the wind
I'll be singing
Like a caged bird who might say
John, Paul, George and Ringo
Help me pass the hours away
Would I be
Another dawn creeps up on me
On me
Ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah
They are the loneliest
They are the loneliest
They are the loneliest
Still
That'd love to
See my swinging in my cell
Oh I never saw a man
who looked like such a wsitful eye,
as the fear f blue prisoners
call the sky
They are the loneliest
They are the loneliest
They are the loneliest
Still

John, Paul, George and Ringo Help me pass the hours away.
Lovely line Pete!
"I never saw a man who looked With such a wistful eye Upon that little tent of blue Which prisoners call the sky"
Is the correct verse :D
i reckon this song is about him being in prison,
'Inside the scrubs How long must we wait? For they're killing us?'
Like, How long to we have to wait untill we get out ? its killing them to have to wait that long
'Through my cell window Hear the loft boys sing'
Didnt he say once in an interview that they all had a song that they sang inside ?
'Loft boys' refers to Loftus Road, home of QPR football club, 'come on you R's' is a football chant
An Oscar Wilde reference is made in the quote "Oh, I never saw a man who looked with such a wistful eye"
"John, Paul, George and Ringo Help me pass the hours away"
In an interview, Pete said he listened to 'Free As A Bird' by The Beatles every day in prison.
about being in prison, love the big about 'letters from faceless haters' clearly this line is about all the hate he gets, who have no face and no identity and no true self as they obviously haven't looked into pete doherty too much otherwise they'd never be able to hate him
It's about Pete's time in jail. He is a well known Queens Park Ranger's fan and even wrote a fanzine for them when he was little. He references them with "Hear the loft boys sing, Come on you R's" QPR play at Loftus Road, thus the nickname loft boys
Also when he was in prison he listened to "Free As A Bird" all the time which explains the line" Like a caged bird who might say, John, Paul, George and Ringo, Help me pass the hours away"
Really good song, my favorite on the album
