The Reeling

I believe that this song is about feeling so overwhelmed by the realization of what life really is, and wanting someone to come 'kidnap' them, praying that there is more to life then what he has come to realize.

While I'm sure this song can be interpreted in more way than one it seems obvious to me that it's about feeling trapped in a mundane life.

"We dug these holes we crawled into now they're my home". We set our surroundings and settled in.

"We can't feel the wind or rain" We don't feel change or excitement.

"Is this the way my life has got to be? Have I a single opportunity?" Do I have any chance to change how things have become?

"Look at me is this the way I'll always be?" Am I doomed to just live my casual repetitive life? Oh no.

"And all at once I feel this, oh how it clings to me it reels and calls me towards it, confounding destiny". There's got to be more to life than this. Something inside me drives me to be more than just your average person.

"And I can feel the madness inch by inch the more I run the more I am convinced a color all these like the branches glimpse. Just like the saddle in the foggy mist." The more I believe there's more to me the stronger I feel about it; the more truth in my urges I find. Wanting to escape despite knowing not where to go or how.

"Now I pray that somebody will quickly come and kidnap me. Everyday I lie awake and pray to god today's the day. Here I am oh when will someone understand?" I can't find a way out, I need a higher power, someone different/unique to come and save me from the prison I made for myself.

I'm looking at the lyrics pamphlet, and I just really need to point some things out!

"Is the way my life's got to be" should be "Is this the way my life has got to be" And "By a single opportunity" should be "Have I a single opportunity"

The chorus, where it says "Is this the way I've always been" should be "Is this the way I'll always be" "Now I'm dreaming somebody would simply come and kidnap me" should instead be "Now I dream that somebody will swiftly come and kidnap me"

"It reels and calls me towards it" would be "It reels and calls me toward some" Where the ? is actually goes "I've colored all these like the branches twist" And "Just like we settle in the foggy mist" is instead "Just like we settle in the frothy mist"

You guys are stupid. This song is about a worm.

Sheesh, am I the only one who figured this out?

I got the impression it was about depression, feeling like you're stuck in a hole and waiting and hoping that it won't always feel like that.

I think the lyrics are actually deep as heck...

If you watch the music video... it clearly shows them living life to the fullest per se... Like clearly with all the reality distortions they have a different or what I think maybe higher awareness of things, so they do not see the need to live inside a box... And the lyrics describe someone who has evolved to where they see a deeper and deeper understanding of things, to where they wish for a quote normal life, but they already understand to much to where a quote normal and simple life playing everything by the book feels to obscene... So now they are just waiting for ascension...

i can't get the "a girl who..." line at all.

"a girl who loves is like a precious glimpse"
