Smoke a Little Smoke Lyrics

Turn the quiet up, turn the noise down
Let this ol' world just spin around
I wanna feel it swing, wanna feel it sway
And put some feel good in my soul

Drink a little drink, smoke a little smoke

Want a little more right and a little less left
Little more right now, a little less what's next
Act like tomorrow's ten years away
And just kick back and let the feelin' flow

Drink a little drink, smoke a little smoke

I set my sails for a new direction
But the wind got in my way
I change my course
But my definition of change
Just ain't the same

I'm gonna sit right here
Stay away from there
I'm gonna make pretend
I just don't care
And I could get up
Go get her back
Or maybe I'll just let her go

Drink a little drink, smoke a little smoke
Yeah, yeah

Go get her back

Drink a little drink, smoke a little smoke
Drink a little drink, smoke a little smoke

Kick back, give the blues a spin
Break out the wine, forget again
Dig down deep, find my stash
Light it up, take me back

Kick back, give the blues a spin
Break out the wine, forget again
Dig down deep, find my stash
Light it up, mem'ry crash

Oh no, I don't know
Baby, might take all night

Then I'll maybe break out that old rock and roll

Drink a little drink, smoke a little smoke

Just your average run of the mill feel good song about Pot and Booze. Country style.

That was the most amazing interpretation that I have ever read. LOL, no seriously though, you explained pretty much what its about. Enjoying the times when plenty of beer is available and a visit(s) from the dandy lady known as Mary Jane comes by. GOOD song! ;-)

The booze is nothing surprising. First time I ever heard a country singer get that straightforward about smoking weed, though.

Ya never know. Look at Willie!

I know this song is about getting drunk and stoned, but I have a different interpretation for the song. For me, it's about a person who wants to stay in their own world and not let the real world bother them. I read that Eric had wanted to watch a football game but people were constantly bothering him, which led to the writing of the song. I like to use the line "Turn the quiet up; turn the noise down" on my housemates when they talk too much. People with autism could use that first line when they want to be in their own worlds and the real word needs them to be there.
