A Hero Loses Everyday Lyrics
I've lost everything
Now I've gotta find a way out
They keep asking me
Where I was when it was burning
There's no trying to explain
They'll lock me up again
Throw away the key
The protagonist became
The villain they disdain
In every way
I've lost everything
But I'm gonna find a way out
Nothing's left for me
Except malady and hatred
No evidence was found
They'll let me go for now
At least till tomorrow
Hey! When tomorrow brings the morning sun again
I'll be long gone
Now! As I drive away and leave the past behind
I think I'm dying
It's so pathetic
I hate you so much but I still miss you
Karma is hard to change
When everything you do and say is awful
Remorse is hard to fake
When you only feel sorry for yourself
I'm coughing up more blood
It's filling up my lungs
It's killing me
Hey! When tomorrow brings the morning sun again
I'll be long gone (I'll be long gone)
Dead! Lying all alone on this motel room floor
I know I'm dying (I know I'm dying)
Hey! I've lost everything
Now! Now I succumb to grace?
It's not that surprising
A hero loses every day
Now I've gotta find a way out
They keep asking me
Where I was when it was burning
There's no trying to explain
They'll lock me up again
Throw away the key
The protagonist became
The villain they disdain
In every way
I've lost everything
But I'm gonna find a way out
Nothing's left for me
Except malady and hatred
No evidence was found
They'll let me go for now
At least till tomorrow
I'll be long gone
Now! As I drive away and leave the past behind
I think I'm dying
I hate you so much but I still miss you

When you only feel sorry for yourself
I'm coughing up more blood
It's filling up my lungs
It's killing me
I'll be long gone (I'll be long gone)

the album sound good jaja i didn't know they were releasing a new album i like this song so far =P jaja not a big fan but yeha this songs is awesome =]
What I see with this [amazing] song, going with the concept album theme;
[I've lost everything Now I've gotta find a way out They keep asking me Where I was when it was burning]
Well here he just burnt his house down and the police are asking him questions.
[There's no trying to explain They'll lock me up again Throw away the key The protagonist became The villain they disdain In every way]
He admits to the listener that he did it and he's sure that he'll get arrested for it and everyone will hate him.
[I've lost everything But I'm gonna find a way out Nothing's left for me Except malady and hatred]
He'll try to get away, the only thing left is hatred.
[No evidence was found They'll let me go for now At least till tomorrow]
An obvious line.
[Hey! When tomorrow brings the morning sun again I'll be long gone Now! As I drive away and leave the past behind I think I'm dying]
He's leaving town to get away from the scene of the crime. Yet, he's regretting something.
[It's so pathetic I hate you so much but I still miss you Karma is hard to change When everything you do and say is awful Remorse is hard to fake When you only feel sorry for yourself I'm coughing up more blood It's filling up my lungs It's killing me]
This section is about him still feeling something, maybe small, maybe distant, towards the person/girl he killed in the fire. In the end, he's getting sick.
[Hey! When tomorrow brings the morning sun again I'll be long gone (I'll be long gone) Dead! Lying all alone on this motel room floor I know I'm dying (I know I'm dying)]
He's predicting his death.
[Hey! I've lost everything Now! Now I succumb to grace? It's not that surprising A hero loses every day] It's clichéd, but Karma is a bitch?
This is only with the concept album's theme, I guess. I could be way off.
jasmineexx, sooooo close lol
im pretty sure theyre trying to convict him of burning down his FRIENDS house, because in "I Am The Arsonist" thats what he does (atleast im pretty sure of it)
p.s, i fucking love how this cd tells an entire story, it was an amazing idea
I agree with epiphone098
He DID burn his own huse down, but is never convicted. This song is about burning down his friends house whom stole his wife, but never gets busted becuse he runs away and dies in The End with his wife, who later apologizes.
:D ~SeairaRayne
in the great fire u figure out that a house is burning and that its his own because of the theme of american dream about everything failing around him in "i am the arsonist" he bhurns down the house tath his wife and best friend wer staying at coz she cheated on him and this song is about the conection to that because in I am the arsonist he says theyll never convict me but in "the end" he tells the girl everything seeing as he kills himself in the end of this song kinda like a spiritual retribution all and all its probs the best album ive heard all year
its talking about a relationship the house is a symbol of this relationship and he feels that he will be blamed for the breakup because he did nothing to stop it but in truth he was the one trying to save the relationship but he is blamed for it anyway so he leaves and he hates the girl but still loves her
he didnt burn his friends house...he burnt down his house with his girlfriend and daughter inside but then realized he still loves them and saves them...listen to the whole album it tells the story...and silverstein is the best band to ever walk on the face of the earth XD
Maybe if you guys looked into the album as a whole you would get it right. He sets his own house on fire with his wife and daughter in it, but he goes to save them (A Great Fire), looking like a hero. People are coming on to him (which explains the song title "A Hero Loses Every Day") so he has to leave town and ends up killing himself at a motel. (Hey! When tomorrow brings the morning sun again/I'll be long gone/Dead! Lying all alone on this motel room floor/I know I'm dying)
You lose in some way, no matter what. I used to have a friend, who betrayed me. And all of our friends, in a way. But we had something back in the day. A whole crew of inseperable friends. But it's all gone now, because of that one betrayal. Though some regard me as a hero for the things i've done to that former friend, we all lost something last year. We lost our brotherhood, and some of us lost our ambition. A hero loses every day.
just goes to show no good deed goes unpunished
