The End Lyrics

First time we met
Face became etched
In my mind
You were the sun
I was the one who worshipped you
My hands were your guns
Your eyes were my muse

And I knew you could never love me
I had so much sorrow inside you could never reach
But can I still keep
A place in your heart

You broke my heart
You promised me the moon and stars
I fell for your dreams
I fell for your lies
There was no other way
You know I tried

And I knew you could never love me
I had so much sorrow inside you could never reach
But can I still keep
A place in your heart

There is something
I want you to know
I think you know exactly what it is
I didn't want to save you
I didn't want to save you
I set our house on fire
To watch it burn
But I couldn't just leave you

And I knew you could never love me
I had so much sorrow inside you could never reach
But I'll ask you this
Will you still miss me?
(I still miss you)
Will you love me?
(Yes, I love you)

Planes fill the sky
We'll both die tonight
We'll both die tonight
Hands from the sky
Swat us away like flies
As we follow the light
x2

We'll both die tonight
We'll both die tonight

Swat us away like flies
We'll both die tonight
As we follow the light

This union, a battle fought and lost
This union was not about the cause
This union was never about love

This is a great! Silverstein should try making more songs with a female vocalist in the mix.

As for the song, I think it's about a depressed guy that meets a really amazing girl. He thinks he is too hardened for the girl to really love him or reach the sorrow inside him, but in the process of his self-loathing and the destruction of anything important to him (including his relationship), he realizes he cares for the girl more than he hates himself. He is unable get over her or even let her out of his life. Luckily, it turns out that it isn't too late for them when the girl shows that she loves him too (even though it seems that the girl might be saying that out of fear for what the guy might do to himself if she doesn't say it; even if this is true, it still shows that she cares for him). However, there is no happy ending to this story. Depending on how you interpret "we'll both die tonight," it could be either that their relationship dies or the guy brings the girl down with him. Either way, it's The End.

are, you, fucking, kidding, me, ? you are wayyyy off, have you heard the cd, A Shipwreck in The Sand?

this song is a recap of the whole cd.

A guy finds his wife cheating on him with his bestfriend, and he burns the house down, but goes in to save his wife and daughter..

beautiful song, but the lyrics aren't quite right.

"Lights fill the sky We'll both die tonight We'll both die tonight Lights from the sky What if the white light flies As we follow the light"

should be...

"Planes fill the sky We'll both die tonight We'll both die tonight Hands from the sky Swat us away like flies As we follow the light"

I got this out of the book that came with the album.

This song is a great finish to the album. I'm pretty sure it's all about how the man and woman at the beginning of the album get back together and die together after splitting up.

this is something new for silverstein, this duet with "lights" she's really good btw. but its a side of shane and the band i havent seen, alot softer and its actually probably the closest to a love song that they have had to date.

it just seems like even though they are trying to say they are "unlovable", they are both still fighting to love each other.

its really sweet, but just like the title...its the end,

I don't know why everyone says this song is a sad song. For one they die together for what the song says. How is dieing with the one that you love bad. I think it is about a guy expressing his love for a woman he loves and she loved him and he did something wrong and is trying to fix it.

My Interpretation

Amazing, i just listened to the whole album while interpreting what other commenters said and it is simply an amzing story with a great ending, i love how they reference another song at the end of it

I really don't like "Light's" voice, it kind of ruined the song for me, her voice reminds me of a little girl's, waay too high pitched for my liking, but other than that, good song.

i love the irony.

"Swat us away like flies As we follow the light"

ha. her name is Lights.

its probably not on purpose or anything, i just thought it was cool. anyhow, this song is simply amazing. i love the duet that shows both sides of the story and how they both feel the same way, but differently at the same time. he tells about how they first met, she vents about the promises he never kept. they both know that the other person has a barrier that wont come down and even though she couldnt be the one to break through, and same for him, they still want to be remembered.

This song is definately one of the best songs on the new album. I love the duet with valerie poxleightner (Lights),it adds a sense of overall warmth to the song.... but I do still love their more hardcore songs such as "Bleeds no more" and "Your sword vs. my dagger" :P
