You Are The Worst Thing In The World Lyrics

I know
that you’re an ocean
after the storm has come..
to stay

I know
that you’re the silence
after the sun has gone..
away

I know
that just the smallest..
part of the world belongs..
to me

You know
I’m not a blind man..
but truth is the hardest thing..
to see

I know
that you’re the worst thing..
in all of the world..
for me

I know
that you’re the worst thing..
in all of the world..
for me

FWIW, some years ago, about a 1/6,000,000,000 part of the world used to belong to me. I knew she was the worst thing in all of the world for me, but I loved her madly. She was very beautiful in non-traditional ways, like a stormy sea or a dusking, pumpkin sun. In the end, we couldn't help but hurt each other because we cared so much for each other. This song reminds of those feelings of impotence and frustration of a love we both knew couldn't be, but we both also couldn't help.

The lyrics are beautiful. Totally think it's about a girl in a relationship.

Late to the party. My two cents: this song is about a drug.

An ocean - endless depth to drown in, inescapable, smashed around by the waves. The storm comes to stay, like the addiction.

The silence - singular, overwhelming, drowning everything else out. The hit makes the outside world disappear. Only the drug remains, after everything else has gone away.

The smallest part belongs to me. Me belongs to me, not to the drug. I'm not blind, but I have a hard time seeing that there is more to me than this drug. That I am in control of me.

The drug is the worst thing for me. It bears repeating, so it does not get forgotten. The drug is the worst thing.
