Brand New Sun Lyrics
Yeah
Grab a broken branch
With a sunburnt hand
In a washed up land
Soon
We should rest a while
You're like a tired child
It's been a lot of miles
I might fall down
And my back is bad
You might fall down
On a sleeping bag
So you should hold my hand
While everything blows away
And we'll run
To a brand new sun
We will run
To a brand new sun
Damn
How did it get so bad?
With all the dreams we had
Now you seem so sad
So you should hold my hand
While everything blows away
And we'll run
To a brand new sun
We will run
To a brand new sun
Grab a broken branch
With a sunburnt hand
In a washed up land
We should rest a while
You're like a tired child
It's been a lot of miles
And my back is bad
You might fall down
On a sleeping bag
While everything blows away
To a brand new sun
We will run
To a brand new sun
How did it get so bad?
With all the dreams we had
Now you seem so sad
While everything blows away
To a brand new sun
We will run
To a brand new sun

I love this already, and it's still playing through the first time. The chorus part is really nice, it really evokes emotion. I'm going to see Lytle at the Manchester Academy next month - I can't wait! The heavy guitar's reminiscent of Grandaddy... Holds back a sob
@Ebonoire Hey dude, how was the Jason Lytle show at the Manchester Academy? Wow, that was a long time ago. Have been a Grandaddy fan since the turn of the millennium, and love them. And well, Jason Lytle, lucky for us, is Grandaddy for the most part, and his solo albums are brilliant. I finally have Yours Truly, The Commuter, and this song, Brand New Sun, is absolutely a standout on the album. Love the chorus, and it does evoke an emotional response to it too, as many of his songs do. Great song!
