Walking alone tonight
'Cause I've only got room for two
Me and my burdened black heart
It's all we know how to do
Yet I look for a bigger bang
Than the kind I continually see
Sick of all this inertia
I want a human being

Lover, can you help me?
I'm a child lost in the woods
A black heart pollutes me
And I think

You're a mountain that I'd like to climb
Not to conquer, but to share in the view

Pulled by a false inertia
Pushed out by circumstance
Pistol firing at my feet
That's coercing me to dance
Yet I look for a bigger bang
Than the kind I'm sorry to know
Here I am, first foot of the climb
Watch me go

Lover, can you help me?
I'm a child lost in the woods
A lit path eludes me
And I think

You're a mountain that I'd like to climb
Not to conquer, but to share in the view
You're a bonfire and I'm gathered 'round you
Set this old black heart inertia aflame
Send it away
Send it away
Send it away
Send it away
Send it away (send it away)
Send it away (send it away)
Send it away (send it away)
Send it away (send it away)

You're a mountain that I'd like to climb
Not to conquer, but to share in the view
You're a bonfire and I'm gathered 'round you
Set this old black heart inertia aflame

Set it aflame, send it away
Set it aflame, send it away
Set it aflame, send it away
Set it aflame, send it away
Set it aflame, send it away
Set it aflame, send it away
Set it aflame, send it away
Set it aflame, send it away
Set it aflame, send it away
Set it aflame, send it away

Ha ha, but actually it's not Boyd - it's his look-alike. ; ) The shy assistant, also very nice...

Techno Ted
Audioslave
Techno Ted may be a person who caused Chris incredible emotional pain & trepidation as well as moments of peace & happiness but now is removed and awaiting his fate. Darling may be a different person who is also free of him and can live her life free of Ted's tyranny. "In between all the laughing, and daydreams ... lies: a desert of truth" Lies are like a desert or the omission of Truth: Where there were Lies then Truth was absent. The song, "Techno Ted", may be a cathartic celebration of the downfall of this person.

Fortnight
Taylor Swift
The song 'Fortnight' by Taylor Swift and Post Malone tells a story about strong feelings, complicated relationships, and secret wishes. It talks about love, betrayal, and wanting someone who doesn't feel the same. The word 'fortnight' shows short-lived happiness and guilty pleasures, leading to sadness. It shows how messy relationships can be and the results of hiding emotions. “I was supposed to be sent away / But they forgot to come and get me,” she kickstarts the song in the first verse with lines suggesting an admission to a hospital for people with mental illnesses. She goes in the verse admitting her lover is the reason why she is like this. In the chorus, she sings about their time in love and reflects on how he has now settled with someone else. “I took the miracle move-on drug, the effects were temporary / And I love you, it’s ruining my life,” on the second verse she details her struggles to forget about him and the negative effects of her failure. “Thought of callin’ ya, but you won’t pick up / ‘Nother fortnight lost in America,” Post Malone sings in the outro.

Gentle Hour
Yo La Tengo
This song was originally written by a guy called Peter Gutteridge. He was one of the founders of the "Dunedin Sound" a musical scene in the south of New Zealand in the early 80s. From there it was covered by "The Clean" one of the early bands of that scene (he had originally been a member of in it's early days, writing a couple of their best early songs). The Dunedin sound, and the Clean became popular on american college radio in the mid to late 80s. I guess Yo La Tengo heard that version. Great version of a great song,
