I'll Forget You Lyrics

Well, those days have all but gone,
and still I'm listening in
to that old long distance call,
but I'll forget you.

Well, the fields are turning gold
as the winter moves in.
There's a love I used to know,
but I'll forget you.

So bye bye
So bye bye,
I'll forget you.

There's a ghost above my door.
Still, can you hear
that high lonesome call?
I'll forget you.

So bye bye,
so bye bye,
I'll forget you.

As the space around me grows,
I need the touch of your skin.
So I wear this ring of gold
til I forget you.

So bye bye,
bye bye.

So bye bye,
I'll forget you.

I feel like he's trying to move on from the girl that he loves... It's like he wants her to know that he won't completely forget her.. But he's moving on none the less...

Totally ironic. He will never forget her.

My Interpretation

I believe he’s trying to convince himself possibly, to forget his wife… Must’ve been divorced because it mentions wearing his wedding ring still. She must’ve moved on and never looked back because he has no hope…. but still he’s desperately trying to convince himself to move on and forget her but he just won’t how could he? He still in love with her

@Stephaniejones then he should go be with her. Because she loves him too.
