The Colony

My eyes are heavy
as I survey the land I live in.
Time rushes passed
me,
Like I never existed.Sleep is the only time I find peace,
In this world
of judgment.
But sometimes sleep takes on a life of it’s own.

The ghosts always come for me,
and In my mind.
Ink in my
hands,
The dreams become lands,
The perfect life,
The perfect smile,
Don’t
exist for me.
My lungs are filled
with blood I will be dead in seven years
time.
The fighting never stops,
And I wonder why? This only seems to happen
to me!
My reflection in the mirror,
Never seems to stay in one place.
(like it should,
Like I wish that it would)

back.
Never the person I want to be.
Now it’s too late,
The cleaver’s
coming down!

Tyrants oversee my life,
I can feel the carving knife.
The
perfect life,
The perfect smile,
Perfect wife,
Perfect child,
They don’t
exist in my story.
Not even as an allegory.
I’ll never really be free,
I’m
still in the colony.
