I think maybe it's "where has OUR conversation gone?" Maybe?

I definitely hear it as 'where has all the conversation gone?'.

Anyways, about the songs meaning.. seems like the person the song is about is obsessive over a particular person, a little too fascinated by them that they can't think of anyone else, even though there are others around.

Or something. =]

To me the song sounds as if the person singing the song has just been left by an old partner or something. They mention that there are "different ways of collecting all the strays" probably in reference to losing whoever had been gone for 2 weeks. So instead they follow them home and end up making arrangements to sleep with them. This is in reference to the "bed still being warm" and wondering "where has all the conversation gone".

So although they have old fascinations but crave new sensations I think it's a bit of nostalgia as well as wanting something more but they need something to get through "now" and are willing to settle for this purely sexual relationship. Hence, they "don't have the patience".

That's my take anyways...

I think that this songs means she broke up with someone and now misses them. It's "old fascinations" meaning the previous relationships. And then she starts to question the previous things like talking on the phone and the arrangements they made/plans for the future. When its "new sensations", its like getting the feeling back again for them.

My interpretation is that an ex uses her again, she regrets it and doesn't want anymore but still ends up doing it again and then it makes her angry with herself for not saying no.

the first time i heard it, it made me think of a long relationship that were bored of and there are all these temptations out there ..or you actually have a bf and leave him for all those temptations and realize that once ur single, all ur having is short flings that drift away and you run out of patience to find something stable.eventually you end up going back to the "old facination"

I think this song was written closely after 'Quicksand' so I'm wondering whether its about the same 'friend' of hers she had 'moments' with...
