About Face Lyrics
Without a trace
Makes me wonder
The staged race
Has no thunder
This is the case
Of our blunder
It's a fire... for what?
Time for faith, we thought
About face
Makes me wonder
And in this case
There is no thunder
A bit of grace
In our blunder
It's a fire... for what?
Time for faith, we thought
It's a fire... for what?
Time for faith, we thought
It's a fire... for what?
Time for faith, we thought
Makes me wonder
The staged race
Has no thunder
This is the case
Of our blunder
Time for faith, we thought
Makes me wonder
And in this case
There is no thunder
A bit of grace
In our blunder
Time for faith, we thought
Time for faith, we thought
Time for faith, we thought

Lyrics printed on the vinyl sleeves. So they are right.
I feel like this song is implying that the "act" that we all participate in has no meaning. "A staged race has no thunder" meaning that this race, this act of achieving success or money or good looks or other insignificant matter has no real meaning or passion. (thunder) "It's a fire for what?"- We're creating this huge flame of war and violence...but for what? Does it all go back to the race?
Generally, we make life "about face" or the mask or "face" we display to the world.
I love this song so much. I can't believe nobody's commented on it yet.
