Heaven Isn't So Far Lyrics

Your eyes are an invitation
For sugar-coated pain
How sweet now is this kiss
If bitterness remains?
My body’s gotten colder
Since I felt your touch
I wish I could remember
I can never get enough

Heaven isn’t so far
Cause I can taste it
On your lips tonight
Heaven isn’t so far now
(But hell is getting close)
Heaven isn’t so far
Cause i can taste it
On your lips tonight
Heaven isn’t so far now

Your voice sounds like the sirens
Calling out my name
But could I be mistaken,
Could I be to blame?
Could I be forgiven,
Or would I be forgotten?

God you know how hard I’ve prayed
Though it seems I’m still the same
If I could ask just one thing
Could you take this world away?

Cover art for Heaven Isn't So Far lyrics by Becoming, The

I think this song is about allowing sin to deceive you. You can see something pleasurable in sin, which can seem to be like heaven to you at that moment. You can slip a little, still go to church or whatever, and think that heaven still isn't so far. I think that the line, "Your voice sounds like the sirens" is alluding to the sirens in Greek mythology that had enchanting voices which caused Sailers to shipwreck on the rocky coast.
