Easy Lovers, Hardly Friends Lyrics
Such a tired face
Seattle eyes
Oh so blue and green
But never dry
It started with a tiny whisper
In my ear
Ended like a roller coaster
At the county fair
We were easy lovers, hardly friends
Never works out in the end
You always fooled me with
December kisses
Oh so red and white
Cold and twisted
Now that we've both grown up
I hope you're happy
For my part I like to say
I'm so so so sorry
We were easy lovers, hardly friends
Never works out in the end
Seattle eyes
Oh so blue and green
But never dry
In my ear
Ended like a roller coaster
At the county fair
Never works out in the end
December kisses
Oh so red and white
Cold and twisted
I hope you're happy
For my part I like to say
I'm so so so sorry
Never works out in the end

To me, this song is simply reflecting on a relationship had with someone who you now realize you didn't really know all that well. Sometimes it's easy to be intimate with someone without actually talking to them and letting them be your friend first. But that usually just "never works out in the end"
