i.e. black eyed peas' song my humps from 2005, v.s. the 3rd verse in poker face: "i won't tell you that i love you kiss or hug you cus i'm bluffin with my muffin i'm not lyin im just stunnin with my love-glue-gunnin" where she takes on the same voice and "bambi rhyming" as fergie in my humps. but she's 3 years late.

"I'm so 3008, you so 2000 and late" is the only line that really sticks out to me. It's one of those catchy mindless songs though.

to me this song incorporates alot of the different styles we hear in pop radio these days. The vocoder, the 'haters' that diss them, the crazy infectious beats, the repetition, the talking about nothing.... it's almost satirical or like a parody. Its like they made a list of things that make a hit record and this is what came out of that formula, yet it still has this original sound although its brought nothing new at all.

I HATE the BEP and I fuckin' jizzed when will i am died in the new x-men movie but this song will be on my list of favourite songs of all time. It displeases me but this song is too good to be true. I secretly scan the radio in search of it.

To me, 'Boom Boom Pow' is itself a tribute to the legendary 808 and the gut-wrenching sub-bass it can churn out on its kick drum sounds. Like a lot of us, BEP would have grown up listening to music featuring the 808, and I think this song is mainly a tribute to it.

It's a BEP song, guys. It's for dancing... it's not going to have the lyrical depth of a Bob Dylan tune. The song is great.. Video matches it perfectly.

It's all about being on the 'next level' compared to the other musicians/artists today.

(Super-8 was a really old format for VCR tapes, and 8-bit describes electronic sound. 8-bit is not very good - something like the old Nintendo NES sounds. Most modern games use 32 or 64-bit sound now.
