I actually think this song could be written about two really close friends. One of the two is getting into a relationship and the other friend if left wondering what will become of their friendship. The verses seem to talk about the things the friends have done and experiences they have had and the chorus is where the single friend is asking his friend what will happen to their friendship.
Then he asks his friend how he will know when he finds the person he is suppose to be with.
"Tell me what its like to love someone. Tell me will I know it when it comes? Tell me will I ever see you again? See you again"

quick analysis:
1st and 2nd verses i think are about what they've done while they were in the music business. chorus is what they're asking the fans.. as for the last verse, it's pretty self-explanatory.
