It's Time Lyrics
love me
bad idea
oh no flash back
whisper i barely hear
okay now come back
hold (let me down) myself up (let me down)
for each let down
it aches (let me down) but it feels good (let me down)
a mistake (let me down) is understood now
it's time, can you feel it?
i'm making a change
there's a world i need to know
it's time, can you feel it?
i'm making a change
i learned to let it go
i don't know you, but i want to now
oh no flashback
careful, i'm barely here
okay, now come back
hold (let me down) myself up (let me down)
for each let down
breaks (let me down) but it feels good (let me down)
separate (let me down) i knew it would now
it's time, can you feel it?
i'm making a change
there's a world i want to know
it's time, can you feel it?
i'm making a change
i learned to let you go
bad idea
oh no flash back
whisper i barely hear
okay now come back
for each let down
it aches (let me down) but it feels good (let me down)
a mistake (let me down) is understood now
i'm making a change
there's a world i need to know
i'm making a change
i learned to let it go
oh no flashback
careful, i'm barely here
okay, now come back
for each let down
breaks (let me down) but it feels good (let me down)
separate (let me down) i knew it would now
i'm making a change
there's a world i want to know
it's time, can you feel it?
i'm making a change
i learned to let you go

I can't believe that there aren't more comments on such an amazing song! I think that the narrator is in a relationship where she keeps getting let down by the other person. She's saying that it isn't a good idea for them to love each other because either or both of them hurting the other person. which is why when she says:
love me bad idea oh no flash back whisper i barely hear okay now come back
They seem to have an off again on again relationship, so they've obviously been hurt before but keep coming back to each other because ultimately they do love each other. Which explains why she's "holding herself up for each letdown." But clearly she's coming to the realisation its better to just end things and let go because in certain ways they still don't know each other ("I don't know you but I want to now") and while she wants to get to know him better she keeps having flashbacks to the hard times, the letdowns and the arguments where maybe he isn't actually letting her get to know him or he's pushing her away. Which is why in spite of everything it feels good to be away from him ("breaks but it feels good")and through each break up shes learned to let him go a little bit more until she realises that the back and forth is getting old and that there's a world out there that she needs to see without him. Such an awesome song!
I think it's ultimately about moving on and letting go, making a change, etc.
