The lyrics "as I lay me down to sleep, I pray some grace my soul will keep" are similar to that of a children's bedtime prayer which starts with "Now I lay me down to sleep, I pray the Lord my soul to keep." I'm not sure what you can make of that...
"What if we get to the sky and this was all a lie, this was all a dream?" It sounds like the "sky" is referring to Heaven. Perhaps he is questioning his beliefs, then later in the song he answers the question with "It's not a dream, I do believe.
