i think this song is about a boy who has this girl in his life, who loves him soo much and does everything for him, but he doesn't even notice, until she "put him on his feet" and now he notices her. and knows that she'll still be there because she loves him. he realizes this and realizes he loves her back because she is all he needs. but you know, just an opinion.

I don't think that it is an actual person, but the general concept of love itself.

I'm thinking that faith in a relationship was lost; however, love made him want to believe.
I personally think this song could stand for any number of things. Love itself could be what he is actually referring to or he could be speaking to a loved one such as a girlfriend or even his mother, sister or grandmother. Just someone who has loved him and shown him love and been there through all the hardest times in his life. And btw... the line is "and when that world slows down, dear".
In this song the guy is not singing about a girl he is talking about how love hurts but even thought it can be cruel we still need and want love even though it can take some time to find it. In the song it says, "I've been beaten down I've been kicked around," he is talking about how love hurts. Then the lyrics go on to say," She's all I need," he is adressing love because he says," they call her Love, Love, Love, Love, Love." right before he goes on to say that she is all I ever need. If you are still skeptical about whether Love is just no his girlfriend lets talk about the Greek gods. Aphrodite was the goddess of love and she was female so thats where the she part came in.
