The Mexican Lyrics
What in the monkey!!!? No comments?? No comments!!!?? No comments!!!!!? What's wrong with you kids. Ahh this song is amazing, reminds me of the days I use to drive with my brother to Alligator Alley down in Florida. Them was the days.
Seriously what is up with this, no comments, for such a legendary tune, c'mon!!!
This song is a great example of artistic reinterpretation. They took a little whistle from Ennio Morricone's "A Few Dollar's More" Theme and imagined an entirely new and amazing song. Righteous!
PER the band, the song is based on the perspective of the Mexicans who marches into the Alamo to take down them Texans. The old movie, The Alamo, w John Wayne depicts the Mexicans as robotic while the Texans are portrayed as self-righteous as is Hollywood. However the band thought it was unjust and wrote the story of Chico Fernandez who is just trying to get by before he is called into war, unsure and uncertain if he’ll make it back to his senorita. Such an incredible song. It’s also the most sampled song of all time. *FACTS
