i disagree. i think its about her trying to her hardest to make that person HERS. she's been thru hell in that journey but shes not gonna give up. her motivation is LOVE.
Jeez does anybody every actually read the lyrics. Hasn't anyone ever been put in this situation before? It'a about a girl who falls in love with her friend. And she keeps putting herself out there for him. Keeps making a fool of herself infront on him over and over. And he keeps rejecting her. And she tries to give up on him but she can't cause she doesn't know how. She puts the idea away for a little while but she always picks it back up and tries again because she truly believes in love and not giving up on it. Even though she knows that she should give up she doesn't know how to.
This song is about someone that really wishes she knew how to love. She's been hurt before (very badly, and quite possibly by the same person the song is written for), but she's determined to get it right this time; she just don't know how to do it. It all just seems so hopeless, but she's not going to give up easily.
It's a beautiful song, because it's a place many of us have been before. Easily my favourite Serena Ryder song.
I think it's about a woman who tried her very hardest in a relationship. and she now realizes the guy won't treat her the way she wants. she's leaving him, but she hasn't given up hope that she'll find her true love
