It's Time To Dance Lyrics

Well, she’s not bleeding on the ballroom floor
Just for the attention.
'Cause that’s just ridiculous...ly on
Well she sure is gonna get it
Here’s the setting:
Fashion magazines line the walls now
The walls line the bullet holes...

(you sure your sure you let her have it)
(your sure your)

Have some composure!
Where is your posture?
Oh no, no!
You're pulling the trigger,
Pulling the trigger all wrong
(x2)

Give me envy
Give me malice
Give me a-attention
Give me envy
Give me malice
Give Me, give me a break!

When I say "Shotgun" you say "Wedding"
"Shotgun" , "Wedding"
"Shotgun" , "Wedding"

Well, she didn’t choose this role
But she’ll play it and make it sincere so
You cry, you cry
(Give me a break!)
But they believe it from the tears
And the teeth right down to the blood
At her feet
Boys will be boys
Hiding in estrogen and wearing aubergine dreams
(Give me a break!)

Have some composure!
Where is your posture?
Oh no, no!
You're pulling the trigger,
Pulling the trigger all wrong
(x2)

Come on, this is screaming "Photo op."op..
Come on, this is screaming "Photo op." op..
Come on, come on
This is screaming, This is screaming,
This is screaming, "Photo op."
(x3)

(faded)
Have some composure
Where is your posture
(you sure you sure you let her have it)
Your pulling the trigger
Pulling the trigger
(your sure your sure)

well Give me envy
Give me malice
Give me a-attention
Give me envy
Give me malice
Baby, give me a break!

When I say "Shotgun" you say "Wedding"
"Shotgun" , "Wedding"
"Shotgun" , "Wedding"

Boys will be boys
Hiding in estrogen and boys will be boys
Boys will be boys
Hiding in estrogen and wearing aubergine dreams

what only one comment? I love this song.

I think its based on Invisible Monsters by Chuck Palahniuk. Especially with the "When I say shotgun, you say wedding" and "Hiding in estrogen and boys will be boys"

Yea, this song is absolutely based on "invisible Monsters" "Give me envy , give me malice, give me attention" is in the book as Flash, give me envy, Flash give me Malice , and so on..,

The first like "she's not bleeding on the ballroom floor, just for the attention" Is obv about brandy but the irony in that line is that she/he does almost everything for attention. And even when brandy go shot she was being super dramatic.

This is so true man. "Boys hiding in Estrogen", no doubt it's about "Invisible Monsters"

isnt this suposed to be like the typical famous people who when they have a problem they sell interviews and talk about many diferent stupid things to the press to not die, but also can be when you have a relatiomship and you want to force the other to do whatever you want.

i personally think its about preps trying to be emo/goth or anything that they're not and not fitting into the misfit crowd possibly not knowing who you are such as sexuality like "Boys will be boys hiding in estrogen"

I'm so glad I'm not the only one who got the Invisible Monsters references. I liked this song before I read the book, and didn't even think about this song when I later read the book, but after listening to the song after reading the book it's like a whole new song. Love it.

I think that this song is about someone who is obsessed with perfection because they have always been pushed in order to achieve perfection, but they are beginning to become their own person and not what others expect of them and thus crack under the pressure. The chorus "Have some composure! Where is your posture? Oh no, no! You're pulling the trigger, Pulling the trigger all wrong" I think shows that pretty well :)
