Yeah, I don't really believe that. We all know that this was a Valentine's day present, so I think that this still falls in the category of a love song. I think he means you're going to drive me crazy and mad in love, and as long as you stay with me better things are coming.

Half of these lyrics are wrong. I seriously wonder what this song is about though? After looking at these lyrics, I wonder if it's something religious (one person encourage their loved-one that god promises 'better things'... geez).
knowing this band, I don't quite think it's fully religious. they relate many things about love to be a religious like experience, in the sense of the fulfillment they get from love being the same as a devoted practitioner would have from his faith.

Great song. I was excited to hear it sampled in Chiddy Bang's "Truth" too
This is my favorite Passion Pit song. When I listen to it I get this image of a young couple and the girl is all high-strung and gets upset over little things and one day she is crying to the guy and he just says "I love you! But you are going to drive me crazy!" and then he promises her that better things are coming. It's a weird interpretation but that's always how I see it when I listen to it.
