All Is Said And Done Lyrics
I need you to hear me,
I want you to feel this,
It should be clear as fear and plain as day.
I'm not going to bend now,
You're not going to break me,
You'll never be hard enough to scratch my face.
I wanted to feel you,
I tried to belong here,
Well all of the ghosts and faded headlines.
But I couldn't read you,
You wouldn't let me,
You always pull away,
From the ones you can't defy.
Are you tired,
Of holding up the sky?
Of teaching birds to fly?
You've done it all your life.
Oh baby,
Are you sad,
When you see the sun?
Cause then your not the brightest one.
When all is said and done.
Ah honey,
When all is said and done.
I need to move through this,
The waiting just kills me,
Whatever you do is on you,
I'm washed clean.
No, don't be alarmed now,
The story is ending.
These aren't open arms,
Just waving you away.
Are you tired?
Of holding up the sky?
Of teaching birds to fly?
You've done it all your life.
Oh baby,
Are you sad,
When you see the sun?
You've never been the brightest one,
When all is said and done.
Ah honey,
When all is said and done.
All is said and done.
I need you to hear me,
I want you to feel this,
It should be clear as fear and plain as day.
Are you tired?
Of holding up the sky?
Of teaching birds to fly?
You've done it all your life.
Oh baby,
Are you sad,
When you see the sun?
Cause then your not the brightest one.
When all is said and done.
Oh, are you tired,
Of running for your life?
When there's no one left behind,
Just the chaos in your mind.
Oh baby,
Are you sad,
Each day you greet the sun?
You know you're not the brightest one,
When all is said and done.
When all is said and done.
I want you to feel this,
It should be clear as fear and plain as day.
You're not going to break me,

Wow. I'd have suspected more interpretations. It's really a great song.
Right off the bat, I haven't studied the lyrics much, but I feel like it's about a cold, intelligent woman who's defenses are strong and she's distant. My best friend is like this.
They pride themselves on their intelligence, showing people what they know, 'teaching birds to fly' so to speak. They analyze people, try to control them (reminiscent of I'm Still Here), and once they find someone who can match their wits, match their 'strength', then they run away because they can't handle being the top gun, the teacher, the commander.
Kinda reminds me a little of Trapt's Black Rose, if my interpretation is correct.

SovereignM I just said I'm suprised there's no comments on another of of their somgs off the same album as this. But I just realised that the CD isn't released till the 22nd of september 2009. So in 9 days from now. When it's out they'll hopefully be more comments.
Right the meanings. =) This song is basically about control freaks.
'Are you tired? Of holding up the sky? Of teaching birds to fly? You've done it all your life' -Its like you don't have to control everything. If you take a break, its not like everything will suddenly go wrong and the world will fall down. You don't have to hold up the sky, it won't fall down. You don't have to teach birds to fly, they'll learn themselves. That type of thing.
This is gonna be their next big hit
