Devil's Thunder Lyrics
This song is about getting to a point in your life where you can no longer ignore how far from your principles you've wandered. It starts with a simple impetus- revenge or a bit of money. But then it goes so far as to make you wonder where it became so bad, when you started to need someone to throw you some water to make you more comfortable in your trip to the Devil. But I think there's also a feeling that it's reversible, if you only realize soon enough.
I'd gotten a bit of research that sent me in the direction of the story of Gilles De Rais, once known as the terrible psychopathic killer of children, years after he'd been a noble soldier fighting side by side with Joan de Arc.
After further research, and fast forward over 550 years, the information was completely debunked, found that he'd probably been framed to confiscate his wealth and in 1992 he was exonerated by a team of specialists in religion, politics and history.
Acknowledging the first general comment, the story of De Rais would follow those feelings and emotions expressed within the song.
