La Llorona Lyrics
Ever away from seeing more than life
The morning lies miles away from the night
No man ever could steal her heart but
With bright gold coins I'll take my shot
And all it takes to fall
If you don't walk, might as well crawl
All it takes to fall
What a quiet world after all
Of the things that you guessed will come
What a moment it was after all
The morning lies miles away from the night
No man ever could steal her heart but
With bright gold coins I'll take my shot
If you don't walk, might as well crawl
What a quiet world after all
Of the things that you guessed will come
What a moment it was after all

This kind of melodious brilliance is seldom found in today's world of bad taste. It's comforting to know that Beirut is living up to their name in this new album.
On a similar note, this song is absolutely beautiful- I especially love the "easy on the ears" trumpets in the background. It makes the song, I swear.
I think it's gold.
and I love this song.
Ever away from seeing more than life The morning lies miles away from the night No man ever could steal her heart But With bright gold coins I’ll take my shot
And all it takes to fall If you don’t walk, might as well crawl
All it takes to fall What a quiet world after all Of the things that you guessed will come What a moment it was after all
referrs to the American/Southamerican myth of The Weeping Woman, or "La LLorona". See wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/La_llorona
To me this song is telling you to take a chance and go and get what you want for yourself. The end lyrics seem to say something about most people don't speak up.
Btw, he has the most beautiful voice EVER!
It's about La Llorona, a Mexican spirit. She drowned her sons in a river, and you can hear her crying for them.
