Overtime Lyrics
Overtime
That's what they all tell me
That's what they say to me
Overtime
Overtime
That's what they all tell me
That's what they say to me
Overtime
Your blue eyes, your black eyelashes
The way you looked at life
In your funny way
I guess out of the blue
You won't cross my mind
And I'll get over you
Overtime
Your pale skin, your sexy crooked teeth
The trouble you'd get in
In your clumsy way
I guess one afternoon
You won't cross my mind
And I'll get over you
Overtime
I guess out of the blue
You won't cross my mind
And I'll get over you
Overtime
That's what they all tell me
That's what they say to me
Overtime
That's what they all tell me
That's what they say to me
Overtime
The way you looked at life
In your funny way
You won't cross my mind
And I'll get over you
Overtime
The trouble you'd get in
In your clumsy way
You won't cross my mind
And I'll get over you
Overtime
You won't cross my mind
And I'll get over you
Overtime

No, I probably won't "get over you, Overtime" but I AM learning to live with it.
One of my favorite break up albums, right up there with Blood On The Tracks. I think this song comes off very sarcastic, she doesn't quite believe that she will get over him, overtime.
Lucinda Williams does this with Willie Nelson. Words definitely matter, but also do singers. Singers who sing with their natural voice matter especially.
