I think this song is about living in a post-Invasion of the Body Snatchers world.

I was afraid that somebody who knows would agree with this, and it seems they did. I've often felt like that one lady left at the end of the movie (the 1978 version). So with this confirmation I'll now have to figure out how to get through the rest of this life.
