After the Rain Lyrics
After the rain the temperature dropped
And covered in ice was my window top
I say goodbye I wave my hand
As a thousand doves fly
Across the blackened night
After the rain we forget
We make sure we gain then we leave it
‘Cause were a nation of forgetters
Oh after the rain we pretend
It’s easier to begin without looking back
‘Cause all at once air so thin
And there’s nothing left to breath in
After the rain we forget
After the rain we forget
Behind a dream so rosy and red a pile of things to forget
A voice of the past tiptoes in a cracking ghost whispering
After the rain we forget
We make sure we gain then we leave it
‘Cause were a nation of forgetters
After the rain we forget
After the rain we forget
People where have you been
Have you been hiding
In you big houses
People after the rain
Will your life
Will it ever be the same
Oh people what will you do
When your luck
When it turns on you
Wow people after the rain
Will your life
Will it ever be the same
After the rain we forget
After the rain we forget
After the rain we forget
And covered in ice was my window top
I say goodbye I wave my hand
As a thousand doves fly
Across the blackened night
We make sure we gain then we leave it
‘Cause were a nation of forgetters
Oh after the rain we pretend
It’s easier to begin without looking back
And there’s nothing left to breath in
After the rain we forget
A voice of the past tiptoes in a cracking ghost whispering
We make sure we gain then we leave it
‘Cause were a nation of forgetters
After the rain we forget
Have you been hiding
In you big houses
People after the rain
Will your life
Will it ever be the same
Oh people what will you do
When your luck
When it turns on you
Wow people after the rain
Will your life
Will it ever be the same
After the rain we forget

This song sounds to me like the other side of the American Dream. Just talking about how we don't think about the bad things we've done in the past to get where we are or what's sacrificed to get the things we want. It all just seems very materialistic and fake to me. Like the Stepford Wives thing where everything's perfect and fine when really it's not.
Well, personally I haven't seen this too much, but geeze, I sure learn from my mistakes. I make sure I don't forget mine. :P But I'm glad some people don't because this song is bomb.
I feel like they wouldn't say "we" if they were talking about America, although it certainly can relate to America. Maybe they mean the world, or maybe shit's real fucked up in Sweden (although I know it isn't)
