i feel like this song about Max trying to console Chris. it seems like Chris is really depressed maybe because of the decline of Saves The Day among other things?

I like myhers interp. but I feel more that its like a dialogue between max and chris (who is some unnamed girl). she breaks up with him and he's trying so hard to get her back.

shows that he is begging just to hold onto something of hers. And the if i could make you and then chris saying go away, telling max to go away.

i think that rommich may have hit the spot. it could be interpreted either way. saves the days decline or a girl leaving. i think its more like a girl leaving and him trying to get her back though. cause "if i could make you..."(stay with me maybe) and then the girl turning him down hence the "go away"

To me these are two friends. Max is being the one to help Chris. Chris is playing the part of someone who has slipped into a deep depression, even resorting to drugs. Max is saying if he could make Chris come out out of the hole he is in he would, but Chris repeatedly pushes him away.

We have all been in a situation like this when a friend needs help but refuses its one of the facts of life we have to deal with.

I love this song so very much.

Saves the Day and Say Anything are an awesome together.

Max is an amazing song writer and singer, as is Chris.
