Salt Air Lyrics

pushing into every corner, yes we do
climbing walls and running lights we're leaving you
buy your cars and clean your homes, we'll see you there
your an ocean and the salt air

don't want nothing but the callousness I had
and I'm trying all I can to get it back
on the bridge and its not such a long way down
sorry officer, we're just fooling around

you've been drinking
you've been driving
crashed your car
said a prayer
get outside (?)
and he's not there

pushing into every corner, yes we do
climbing walls and running lights we're leaving you
buy your cars and clean your homes, we'll see you there
your an ocean and the salt air

don't want nothing but the callousness I had
and I'm trying all I can to get it back
on the bridge and its not such a long way down
sorry officer, we're just fooling around

you've been drinking
you've been driving
crashed your car
said a prayer
get outside (?)
and he's not there

you've been drinking
you've been driving
crashed your car
said a prayer
get outside (?)
and he's not there

you've been drinking
you've been driving
crashed your car
said a prayer
get outside (?)
and he's not there

you've been drinking
you've been driving
crashed your car
said a prayer
get outside (?)
and he's not there

Alex Kaprano`s mix of this song is rad! I think she's describing a desperate situation, someone who's having troubles and thinking of suicide. no idea.

Thanks for posting the right lyrics, Stevenman. I was already doubting my own ears as EVERYONE on the net has got the wrong words. About the song, I think it talks about a bunch of friends who decide to leave town and take a crazy trip. So they agree to get a car, get all their stuff in it and hit the road so that they get to run away from some unpleasant reality they all live. But trying to find this whole new carefree reality, they drink and crash their car before they even get away and still get in trouble with the police. And it seems a pretty depressing song to me (though I absolutely love this song), because it kinda says that fate will get you anyway and if you try to escape it, you force yourself into a loop. Being the ocean and the salt air would be feeling this need for space and being raw as a force of nature, but corrosive at the same time, able to wear things out and destroy (?). I'm trying hard here. Any help finding the meaning to this song?
