Samon Lyrics

Instrumental

"The "great wheel," the round cycle of the seasons, is one fo the most essential foundations of Celtic mythology, principles and life. It runs through the four great season feasts (Samonios, circa 1st of November, Anagantios on 1st of February, Giamonios on 1st of May, and Elembivos on 1st of August) and the four small feasts of the midsummer/winter solstice and the equinoxes. In the Celtic calendar the year begins with the feast of Samon, when the "dark time" begins, the months of Winter and bitter cold, when we rest from the work done during the preceding year. A time mostly spent at home at the fireplace. A time of rest, reflection, recreation, of learning and also a time of singing, feasting, playing, and probably also of drinking."
