No More Runnin Lyrics
This song is about taking small steps. Yes, you want to accomplish goals and live out your dreams ("Daily Routine" and "Lion in a Coma" contrasted with "No More Runnin"); yes, you want to take your romantic relationship to the next level ("Bluish" contrasted with "Guys Eyes"); yes, you want to raise children already; but you have to do it in small steps or else your body will crash. One day at a time. It's important for your body and mind to relax; it's important to love and care for yourself.
Placing "Brother Sport" after this song speaks to shy people and lazy people who relax more than they accomplish; that song tells them to open up and voice your opinions and do things.
The whole album is seriously an archetypal Jungian type of journey.
I completely agree and I seriously lol'd at "Jungian type of journey"

this song is hypnotic
the 'no more runnin' after 'it's what i hoped for' is orgasmic
i put this song on repete when i can't sleep. it's like a lullaby for me. and it's a personal song to me, because i've run away from a lot of good things, and i think thats what this song is about. hwo sometiems, you just have to stop running from shit you need to take care of, and deal with.
i think avey sings this song, but the "its what i hoped for / no more runnin'" i think is sung by both in harmony.
this is perhaps the best song on the album. the calmest, but the most delicate and beautiful.
About the profound emotions you experience that cannot be replicated or replaced. "Your kisses are too fine."
About trying to escape the vulnerability, only to realize that it will follow you.
"You are candy in my teeth."
Simply stunning. Certainly, it's become clear that a good portion of Merriweather regards relationship commitment -- the narrator riding himself of fears and reservations, and embracing his girlfriend/wife no holds bar.
Anyone know if it's Panda or Avey singing the "It's what I hopes for" and the "No more running"?
I think this is becoming my favorite off the new album, totally mellow but completely effective. Love it.
I agree. I was expecting this album to be another Strawberry Jam where you want to jump around the room and scream along with Avey. Its not. While I still feel that SJ is the better record, as iwake said this album is completely effective, and unlike SJ you don't have to be in the right mood to listen to it.

Panda sings 'Its what i hoped for' & 'No more running' parts while Avey joins in at 'running & whoa' part..rest of the song is sung by avey alone except for the backing vocals by Panda..
On the whole , most of the songs with high notes like My Girls,Daily Routine,Guys Eyes, Brother sport, all falsetto parts in Bluish('Put on the dress that i like' & 'Keep on your stockings for a while' & others like '
apartment babe'/ 'kiss you there' etc) & all the high regions in 'Summertime clothes' are sung by Panda..& ofcourse
'this wilderness up in my head,
this wilderness that's up in my head,
this wilderness needs to get right out of my clothes and get into my bedroom.' part in Lion in a coma..
:)
underrated.
underrated.
interesting. i had been thinking the first line ended: "all this movement has just proved your kisses hard to find" which makes sense. the actual lyrics have a different feel them, i like it.
this song speaks to me because whenever there is a big issue, trouble, or stress, I just push it out of my mind. I don't think about what needs to be done.
