I don't wanna hurt you cause I don't think it's a virtue
But you and I have come to our end
Believe me when I tell you that I never wanna see you again
And please can you stop calling cause it's getting really boring
And I've told you I don't want to be friends
Believe me when I tell you that I never wanna see you again

How on earth could I be any more obvious?
It never really did and now it's never gonna happen
With the two of us
I don't understand what it is that you're chasing after
But it makes me really sad to hear you sound so desperate
It just makes it harder

I can see how it's confusing, it could be considered using
When I call you up straight out of the blue
But I don't understand what else a girl in my position's to do
Now I know you feel betrayed but it's been weeks since I got laid
This doesn't mean that I don't think you're a fool
But I don't understand what else a girl in my position's to do

How on earth
Could I be any more obvious?
It never really did
And now it's never gonna happen
With the two of us
I don't understand
What it is that you're chasing after
But it makes me really sad
To hear you sound so desperate
It just makes it harder

I know it's rather ugly
Cause I know that you still love me
And this isn't any kind of excuse
I don't love you, I don't love you

How on earth could I be any more obvious?
It never really did and now it's never gonna happen
With the two of us
I don't understand what it is that you're chasing after
But it makes me really sad to hear you sound so desperate
It just makes it harder

Oh come on, people. This is a funny song. The guy would have to be an idiot to keep thinking something is there.

I think it's an interesting reversal of gender roles. This is clearly how the majority of males in our society behave toward women. In either situation, whether it's a male or female perpetrator, the person being used is stupid for continuing to fall for the trick.

I think ladies can take a hint from this song and apply it to their own lives. If a guy is only calling you for a booty call every other month, then he's singing this song for you!!! Don't spread your legs too quick.

    Love this song. LOVE it.

I love this, cause I think it's a confession. The line "How could I be more obvious?" seems to make sense in the first chorus. You're think, "Yeah, dude, she's made it clear." And then the next verse shows her explicit using of the subject of the song, followed with the repetition of the line "How could I be more obvious?" and there's the twist. It's said tongue-in-cheek. The singer knows what she's doing is awful.

Especially because it's place just after "Back to the Start" on the album, I think both songs work as a recognition of the ways that the singer can and has hurt people in the past. It's these two songs that make me really adore the album. It's not just a bunch of twee pop songs about love with a couple "Fuck the establishment" songs to show her relevance...there's a lot of real self-reflection.

Its lily allen summing up how some girls act these days stringing guys along. Shes contradicting herself on purpose to show how she's manipulating this guy as shes just using him for sex and as he wants more than that she just wants sex but won't tell him.

Ught - It's about disrespecting and being condescending towards someone she has led on, and then turning around and using him again. I know that guys do it to girls, but I don't think that makes it ok for us girls to do it to guys.

If she left out the part about calling him out of the blue to USE HIM, then this song would be ok, but she has no right to complain about him wanting to be her friend at least.

Techno Ted
Audioslave
Techno Ted may be a person who caused Chris incredible emotional pain & trepidation as well as moments of peace & happiness but now is removed and awaiting his fate. Darling may be a different person who is also free of him and can live her life free of Ted's tyranny. "In between all the laughing, and daydreams ... lies: a desert of truth" Lies are like a desert or the omission of Truth: Where there were Lies then Truth was absent. The song, "Techno Ted", may be a cathartic celebration of the downfall of this person.

Son Şansın - Şarkı Sözleri
Hayalperest
This song seemingly tackles the methods of deception those who manipulate others use to get victims to follow their demands, as well as diverting attention away from important issues. They'll also use it as a means to convince people to hate or kill others by pretending acts of terrorism were committed by the enemy when the acts themselves were done by the masters of control to promote discrimination and hate. It also reinforces the idea that these manipulative forces operate in various locations, infiltrating everyday life without detection, and propagate any and everywhere. In general, it highlights the danger of hidden agendas, manipulation, and distraction, serving as a critique of those who exploit chaos and confusion to control and gain power, depicting a cautionary tale against falling into their traps. It encourages us to question the narratives presented to us and remain vigilant against manipulation in various parts of society.

Holiday
Bee Gees
@[Diderik:33655] "Your a holiday!" Was a popular term used in the 50s/60s to compliment someone on their all around. For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday". I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.

Magical
Ed Sheeran
How would you describe the feeling of being in love? For Ed Sheeran, the word is “Magical.” in HIS three-minute album opener, he makes an attempt to capture the beauty and delicacy of true love with words. He describes the magic of it all over a bright Pop song produced by Aaron Dessner.
