I Cry Lyrics

Oh how I love to feel the blade
Of self-inflicted pain
Yet I long to dwell in purity
My desire is for light to overcome my hate
Yet I play a whore to darkness and remain unclean

Let the hills hear my voice
As I shout out my plea
Let your perfect love pour over me

And I cry for the rain to fall
And I pray that it drowns my soul
Take my pain, I give it all
I cry

All my sins have found me out
And you will know me by the mark upon my brow
I am the killer free to roam
Adulterer that casts the stone
I am desolate due to the life I chose

I am a servant of love
And yet a lover to sin
I’ll do it over again and over again
I’ve done it again

It's about wanting and needing the Grace of God.

Wow this song is powerful, and I just feel the same, that whenever I mess up, I have God, who will send the Rain to flood my Soul.

I've seen these guys in concert, and their amazing!

This song is about a person being torn. They wants so badly to be good, but they feel like the skeletons in their closets are holding them back, and they feel like a "killer free to roam", and they feel stuck that way.

I love the metaphore at the beginning.... (it almost scared me away, this being their first song I heard) ... at first, I was like, "oh, no... a song about the wonders of cutting" ...but when I kept listening, I realized that this is an amazing song (and the video was really well made, too) Sin is self-inflicted pain. Sometimes when we do stuff we think is fun, we don't realize that all we're doing is hurting ourself. Those first lines are really brave.
