it's about a person who's going through a hard time. his surrounding are bleak, like in a dirty hotel. he feels alone, because no one around him understands him. and he's anxious to see someone, "pacing around" like a "stupid, nervous bomb exploding." but eventhough he wishes she was there, there's something's that's gone wrong between them. cos they've "ended up in this state". i don't know what "all the questioning" is about, but maybe he's second-guessing himself. and not having the answers drives him "crazy"
