Plane Vs Tank Vs Submarine Lyrics
Lie to me like you used to
Tell me everything is how it should be
Lie to me, did you have to?
Because in the end it never matters what I think
And I can barely tell the sky from the shoreline
And I can see myself reflected in your eyes
And this was all a dream
And it’s coming back to me
A portrait in grey scale
A perfect betrayal
And I can’t even breathe with this weighing on my chest
You knew me at my best
Now I can’t even stand on my own
Tell me everything is how it should be
Lie to me, did you have to?
Because in the end it never matters what I think
And I can barely tell the sky from the shoreline
And I can see myself reflected in your eyes
And it’s coming back to me
A portrait in grey scale
A perfect betrayal
And I can’t even breathe with this weighing on my chest
You knew me at my best
Now I can’t even stand on my own

this song is sooo good. i can listen to it over and over again.
i think its about the end of a relationship when you realize that you were so stifled and oppressed by the relationship. you had sacrificed so much for it that you could barely support yourself by the end of it.
lovelove
I think this song is a conversation between the singer and his parents. He is telling them about how much simpler it is to be a kid.
"lie to me like you used to, tell me everything is how it should be" He is recalling the reassurance his parents used to provide.
"Lie to me did you have to? Because in the end it never matters what I think" He's saying his parents didn't tell him about all the problems they were probably facing, like finances and health and self doubt, everything. They didn't tell him because he was a kid. He didn't need to know about that stuff yet.
"And I can barley tell the sky from the shoreline" means, I don't know how the world works
"I can see myself reflected in your eyes" I am growing up to be you. I look and act like you, because I am your son
"And it was all a dream" Childhood is nothing like the rest of your life
"And it's coming back to me, a portrait in greyscale" I am remembering what I once thought of the world as a kid. I didn't notice so much complexity. It was simple back then.
"A perfect betrayal" The picture you painted for me as a child did not set me up for the tasks of the real world
"And I can't even breathe with this weighing on my chest" The real adult world is overwhelming, and I must admit i am afraid of it
"You knew me at my best, now I can't even stand on my own" Despite showing so much promise in my childhood, I fear I am failing at being an adult
