This is a very nice song, it's meaning is that he is tired of being lied to by the one he loves and is tired of seeing her pretend and try to get the best of him by using him cus she knows he loves her and he would do anything for her, "Did you think you could be so clever". Being so clever as to using him as she likes because she thinks she has him in the palm of her hands.
Meaning is so obvious. Guy was getting cheated on and he knew it, so he ended the relationship. And "be so clever" was talking about how she thought it was possible to get away without him knowing.
