Working on a Dream Lyrics
I hear the nights are long
the days are lonely
I think of you and Im working on a dream
Im working on a dream
Now the cards Ive drawn
is rough and darkened
I straightened the back and Im working on a dream
Im working on a dream
Im working on a dream,
though sometimes it feels so far away
Im working on a dream,
and I know it will be mine someday
Rain pouring down
I swing my hammer
My hands are rough from working on a dream
From working on a dream
Im working on a dream,
though trouble can feel like its here to stay
Im working on a dream,
well our love will chase the trouble away
~whistling~
Im working on a dream,
though it can feel so far away
Im working on a dream,
our love will make it real someday
The sun rises up, I climb the ladder
A new day breaks and Im working on a dream
Im working on a dream
Im working on a dream
Im working on a dream
Im working on a dream,
though it can feel so far away
Im working on a dream,
our love will make it real someday
Im working on a dream,
though it can feel so far away
Im working on a dream,
our love will make it real someday
the days are lonely
I think of you and Im working on a dream
Im working on a dream
is rough and darkened
I straightened the back and Im working on a dream
Im working on a dream
though sometimes it feels so far away
Im working on a dream,
and I know it will be mine someday
I swing my hammer
My hands are rough from working on a dream
From working on a dream
though trouble can feel like its here to stay
Im working on a dream,
well our love will chase the trouble away
though it can feel so far away
Im working on a dream,
our love will make it real someday
A new day breaks and Im working on a dream
Im working on a dream
Im working on a dream
though it can feel so far away
Im working on a dream,
our love will make it real someday
though it can feel so far away
Im working on a dream,
our love will make it real someday

A truly epic song of hope and optimism.
Sure the boss could do better, but this song with its near-poor simplicity does not belie its brilliance. On the contrary I think it's another great piece of his, simple, but goes straight deep into my heart. I guess that's where the magic lies.
:)
amazing song
Bruce, you are and will remain the man, The Boss. I can't wait to see the half-time show, which, hopefully, will be at Giants Stadium. Coming home one more time, baby!
I can appreciate the positive message he’s trying to send, it has a cool beginning and the whistling blue-collared workers are a nice touch, but other than that...bruce can do much better
