Artificial Immortality Lyrics

Technology will conquer, biology will fall
Machines provide the means for the chosen few
To rise up and be "immortal"
Discard the body to elevate the intellect

Remove the head, remove the soul, implant the artificial
Remove the head, remove the soul, dehumanize... NO!

Shake off the chains
The constraints of your mortality
This new evolution puts "perfection" within our grasp
Discard the body to elevate the intellect

Remove the head, remove the soul, implant the artificial
Remove the head, remove the soul, dehumanize... NO!

I am not a mechanism
I am part of the resistance
I am an organism
An animal, a creature, I am A BEAST! (2x)

Song Meaning

I think its saying that with all the implants etc that are available people will soon be able to become immortal through the use of machines but only those who can afford it "Machines provide the means for the chosen few To rise up and be "immortal""

The last part "I am not a mechanism I am part of the resistance I am an organism An animal, a creature, I am A BEAST!" is the singer refusing this artificial immortality and admitting he is human and i also think he is saying that he doesn't need machines to become immortal

My Interpretation

I think it's deeper than that. Technology has allowed a "chosen few" to become the only people with any real power in the world. It has given them "immortality" in this world. The technology has caused us to lose our head, lose our souls, and there's nothing left now but mindless entertainment. This is BtA saying that technology will ruin us, or already has ruined us, and that they reject said technology. They don't need technology to be "beast" like the "chosen few".

Also, the part about implanting the artificial speaks to the fact that technology entertainment (video games, T.V., movies, ect) has replaced our heart, our head, and our soul with abstract, subjective nothingness.
