Tennessee Pusher Lyrics
Am
Out on the lonely highway
Em
I'm riding your way
Am............................................Em
Tell your momma to bar the cabin door
Heading out on a short run
Just looking for someone
Who doesn't love me anymore
Tennessee pusher, Tennessee pusher, Tennessee pusher
Last night in the hollar
I made a thousand dollars
But I couldn't believe just what I saw
You were out in the moonlight
Until the break of daylight
Giving your love to the law
Tennessee pusher, Tennessee pusher, Tennessee pusher
Climbing up on the mountain
Heartbeat pounding
Reckless as a cyclone
You're the one that am after
But I am a wanted man for
Bringing it all back home
Now there's gunsmoke in the valley
Blood like jelly
As three crows circle a dead tree
One for the lover
One for the pusher
One for the deputy
Tennessee, Tennessee, Tennessee pusher
Tennessee pusher, Tennessee pusher, Tennessee pusher
Out on the lonely highway
Em
I'm riding your way
Am............................................Em
Tell your momma to bar the cabin door
Just looking for someone
Who doesn't love me anymore
I made a thousand dollars
But I couldn't believe just what I saw
Until the break of daylight
Giving your love to the law
Heartbeat pounding
Reckless as a cyclone
But I am a wanted man for
Bringing it all back home
Blood like jelly
As three crows circle a dead tree
One for the pusher
One for the deputy
Tennessee pusher, Tennessee pusher, Tennessee pusher

I am actually 99% sure that I know what this song is about. Some of you may have heard about the growing problem of Meth in small rural towns, where basically a huge amount of people start using in a town and then get hooked and it decimates the town- it is actually a serious problem.
I think this song is talking about how Meth came into a town and destroyed it.
Verse 1: the singer is talking about trying to sell the drug "short run" and looking for buyers "someone who doesn't love me any more"- their 'love' being either their business or sex for drugs (or both maybe) but are now getting drugs from someone else (foreshadowing). This could also be referring to an actual loved one that has become hooked on meth and now will do anything to get it.
Verse 2: the singer sings about being quite profitable (because everyone in the town is probably hooked) and also seeing his former clients or, like I mentioned earlier, his former loved one "giving their love to the law"- in other words buying drugs from the cops which have now gotten involved in selling the drugs. This is another common problem with meth coming into small towns- police can get hooked and then easily resort to dealing for cash. Also, "you were out in the moonlight, until the break of daylight" describes the effects of meth- being wired and not able to sleep.
Verse 3: "Now there's gun smoke in the valley" describes the conflict between dealers competing with the cops for business- basically a gang war. "Street crows circle a dead tree, one for the lover, one for the pusher, one for the deputy" describes how all three parties eventually will die from competing with each other or from using meth. Lover = user, or drug lover. Pusher = dealers (duh). Deputy = law enforcement that have gotten involved with selling drugs.
Whether I am right or completely wrong, this song is amazing- the emotion that you can feel in the music and the singer's voice is really moving and you can tell that this song means something to the band.
I love the verse...
You were out in the moonlight Until the break of daylight Giving your love to the law
To me it seems to suggest that too many people waste their time getting into trouble and fighting with the law instead of gearing that energy towards other, better things, like the people that are good in your life or the life that is good.
I'm pretty sure with the title of the song bein "Tennessee Pusher" it's about pushing drugs(The Pusher). Like in the line when he says "You're the one that I'm after..But I am a wanted man for...Bringing it all back home" Basically means the laws after him for drugs and he's still in love with the girl who's bangin the cop and tryin to set him up to get busted. then in turn kills both of them before he kills himself
yeah this has nothing to do with prostitution. its about selling drugs and losing the girl
I think that he made a thousand dollars prostituting someone out to law enforcement... He made the money, but couldn't believe just what he saw.
So you can rate my comment -1, but don't wanna discuss it? I see...

Actually i think the song is about bootlegging moonshine and his "love" is helping the law in helping them try to bust him. In Tennessee, pushers are moonshiners.... thats why he is in the woods late at nite..... not selling meth..... moonshiners do their work in the moonlight.... and the woods.... so pretty much his love was a narc and he caught her helping them.
