This song is amazing, SO different than Light On, thank god.
Anyway, I feel like it's his promise to his fans/people who are there for him that as long as you're there supporting you, he'll be there as long as you need him. Really great stuff!

David himself has said that Declaration is a message to all of his fans...a reintroduction of sorts. Majority of his fans only saw the American Idol side of David...and by placing Declaration at the beginning of the record, he is allowing those fans to see him for who he is as a songwriter.
