Lost In The Sun Lyrics
It's been seven years since that summer
Why'd you call me at all 'cause I'm with her now
You know you were hard to get over
I finally forgot our first time somehow
Hey
Don't bring it all back to me
Hey
I know this is hard to see
You know, that summer we smoked in the sun
You know, it's only because we were young
That we promised to always remember
And we'd wind up together forever
But looking back we sure had some fun
A summer lost in the sun
No I don't think it's right that I see you
I'm tempted but taken I'm with her now
Just get over me baby you need to
If you don't we'll end up in a mess somehow
I'm going under getting over you
I fooled myself by thinking we were through
Why'd you call me at all 'cause I'm with her now
You know you were hard to get over
I finally forgot our first time somehow
Don't bring it all back to me
Hey
I know this is hard to see
You know, it's only because we were young
That we promised to always remember
And we'd wind up together forever
But looking back we sure had some fun
A summer lost in the sun
I'm tempted but taken I'm with her now
Just get over me baby you need to
If you don't we'll end up in a mess somehow
I fooled myself by thinking we were through

I think that he has fooled himself in a way into thinking he is over this girl when he says "I finally forgot our first time somehow" but it is obvious that he hasn't forgotten anything when he recounts all the fun times he had with her. He doesn't want to be reminded of how great this girl is because he is afraid to slip back into her arms and thinks that if this happens only trouble will result.
The typical previous relationship that one cannot get over with. although he is already with someone else, the line "why'd you call me at all'caus im with her now" suggests that both parties still have something for each other. He want's to see her and at the same time denies it, it would be better for both to stay away from each other.
i think that this is about how he fell in love with a girl one summer, but had to leave her. they both moved on, and he finally began to forget her. seven years later, she called, and he is trying hard to resist, but can't help recounting the amazing memories they had. at least that's what i think [: love this song & hinder [:
summer love can be the sweetest love of all, but its also by far the most painful. the story behind the song is that one of his old summer lovers somehow gets a hold of him and is telling him that she is still in love with him. he is trying to convince not only her but also himself that its over and it was just a summer romance formed on the basis of lust and perhaps one too many drinks. but it was real. love is always real in a way, and that makes it even worse when it is ripped so violently from our fragile arms.
dood, this song is my favorite off their new album.
i defiantly think its kindof a what hes thinking, during the lips of an angel song, if that makes sense.
this reminds me of 'lips of an angel' too.. great song. great lyrics :] love it.
Love this one. Always been one of my favorites.
