My Delirium

I think Ladyhawke was getting screwed. She has no control of herself.

Sort of glad she did because this is a ripper of a song. My favourite song on the album. Of 2008. It's just.....awesome.

From Ladyhawke's myspace page (Oct 30, 2008):

"I wrote the song a year and a half ago after days of no sleep due to terrible jetlag. I felt like I was going out of my mind. I was missing my friends and family back home, and I was basically living to hear my phone ring in hope that it would be one of them calling. So my delirium came out of me thinking I was going crazy from lack of sleep!"

Not that the song is about her friends/family, but the concept came out of what was going on in her life at the time.

I think that this song is about a woman [person] who's waiting for a phone call - probably her lover? and the person hasn't called so shes getting anxious and wondering if this person wants to get to know her [or something like that] so when she sings 'stop playing with my deliruim' shes probably asking the person to stop playing with her mind and just give her a phone call.

Just noticed the title of this song is spelt wrong. :) "Deliruim" should be "Delirium" - I'm sure it was just a typo though! This song is amazing. :) I think it's pretty much about waiting for someone stop messing you around.

I agree Chilled_Tigeress, I think it's a song that depicts how love/attraction can lead to obssession and infatuation, to the point where your sanity is questioned and it becomes bad for your health.

For example, "Still hanging on (for what) Cant operate (fired up) I wont eat eat and i sleep for you yeah No rest till i (get through) Coz im holding out (for you) Am i the only one whos insane"

She's in an altered state of consciousness where she's facing constant confusion, agitation etc due to the fact that the person she's infatuated with has her tied around her his finger, he's manipulating the situation to his advantage. She's singing about how she realises what he's doing and how it's affecting her to the point of which she has little 'self-control', she just wants him to stop messing with her feelings and stop giving her mixed signals.

I'm glad i stumbled upon Ladyhawke . .Paris is burning is what got me hooked and now my delerium, should probably go out and buy the album now.

Yea i agree.. She knows she's being manipulated, used.. But she hangs on, and doesn't know what for.
