i think its basically about people being stressed the fuck out when they don't realize they can pull themselves out of it. "how much money do you need to gain yourself a sense of security?" this is just from the top of my head btw, i could be missing the whole point altogether.

i think this song is about going through tough times, or stressful time. asking not to abondon them at times like this, refurring to someone that helps a you through a lot.
This song is beautiful. Chuck Ragan and Brian Fallon's cover from Revival Tour is great too. But the original is perfect.
