I'm pretty sure this song is about our past President, George W. Bush. When he says "was it for your father, did you get a little pat on the head, that's the way to go boy, clean up his mess." He could be referring to his father Bush senior. of course it could have some deeper meaning, but thats just me.

That part of this song, specifically, is only mildly political. Our way of life bleeds through into our nation's politics. Blind leading the blind indicates that people who are doing things wrong are teaching others. Celebrities account for a massive amount of entertainment in this country and celebrities are rewarded for being vain and drama-riddled. They are handed money for creating adverse situations that suck in viewers' attention. Reality shows constantly fead a stream of worthless mannerisms and mentalities into the average American. Listen close, I'm not just talking about the 'boob-tube'. Hell, it goes outside of the media altogether.

If I make eye contact with the guy in baggy jeans and a puffy coat at the gas station I'm going to get my ass beat. I'm not the kind of guy that looks like an easy target either, its not just for personal gain. People have become riddled with some kind of hate disease that I see everywhere. I see in the office and I work for a major pharmaceutical company - a highly regulated environment where I see people trying to place blame on systems that are working fine because they fucked up and don't wanna admit it. I see people dodging pain they should be responsible for ending and causing pain from nothing!

And now I'm going to stop ranting, because if you're reading this you're probably not one of the people I need to be talking to.

Just really take a step back and look at what you're doing. Look at who you're affecting and how. Hell, try something different - even if its something that's currently working great - just to see if you can improve it. Solve a problem for no reason other than to help, to feel good.

In my opinion this is all about Bush Jr and war with iraq. This war was guaranteed from the end of the first one. If you read into the lyrics where he says " another couple thousand dead." This refers to the soldiers who perished. "Was it for your father, did you get a little pat on the on the head? Way to go boy, clean up his mess." This refers to Sr not getting saddam the first time. And I love that he makes references to a new world order, when Sr used to reference the u.s. as the leaders of the new world order a the time.

Guys, it is obviously about Burger King and their amazing "Have it your way" special.

I've been trying for a couple days to find some alternative meaning for this song. If there is one, I've yet to discover or have it cross my mind. All signs point to this song because about Former US Pres. Bush Jr. It makes references to his father as well as his actions. Now, of course, we can say this applies to other leadership type figures who gained control shortly after their father was in control, but when you look at how the song plays with calling this person incompetent, looking for acceptance from his father as well as cleaning up "his mess", mixing religion with war, "the world [trade center] is fallin down", as well as "the things we don't see on the TV", this entire song simply screams George W Bush Jr.

This song can easily be seen as a huge F-U to Bush Jr.

Personally, I feel like this song is directed at George W. Bush...the lyrics are very powerful. I think he is referring to 9/11 and that perhaps Bush knew it was gonna happen the way it happened and it was a political move for a power gain, therefore giving us a "reason" to attack the Middle East again. He "did it" for his father...trying to finish was Sr. started. Bombs, Bullets, and blood....well we have certainly seen a lot of that since the "attack" on 9/11. (yeah I am a conspiracy theorist, and if you don't agree..that's fine. This is just my opinion. And everyone has one...so don't hate)

Wow...it's a fucking song....and had you read the above comments, then you wouldv'e noticed that ALMOST EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM relates the song to Bush and his father. Not just me. And it can't be about fuckin Obama because HE hadn't been elected yet. I wasn't bashing Georgie Boy..but Mudvayne's lyrics are definitely political and that's how it sounds to me. Not like I wrote it. I could honestly care less. I just wanted to share my opinion on what it sounds like to me since everyone else seemed to have a similar view about it.
