Magic Lyrics

You came to my show,
and I saw you in the crowd
I didn’t know your name,
I didn’t know your name

I asked all my friends
who you were and your story
They told me the same,
They told me the same

I’ve left my heart to you,
but it’s not fair
Coz you’re taking me for granted baby
I made a start with you, but it’s not fair
Coz you’re over the Atlantic baby

One journey for you but it’s worth it
One life here with me and it’s magic
One journey for you, but it’s worth it
One life here with me and it’s magic

You stayed in my head
where I saw you all the time
I didn’t think you care,
I didn’t think you care

I found you one day
with a mouth full of attitude
And you stole me away,
You stole me away

I’ve left my heart to you, but it’s not fair
Coz you’re taking me for granted baby
I made a start with you, but it’s not fair
Coz you’re over the Atlantic baby

One journey for you but it’s worth it
One life here with me and it’s magic
One journey for you, but it’s worth it
One life here with me and it’s magic

Coz your over the Atlantic baby
And you’re taking me for granted baby
Coz you’re over the Atlantic baby

One journey for you but it’s worth it
One life here with me and it’s magic
One journey for you, but it’s worth it
One life here with me and it’s magic
One journey for you but it’s worth it
One life here with me and it’s magic
One journey for you but it’s worth it
One life here with me and it’s magic
One journey for you but it’s worth it
One life here with me and it’s magic
One journey for you but it’s worth it
One life here with me and it’s magic

I love this song, catchy unique sound and ladyhawke's voice is epic! The song sounds like your typical case of unrequited love. She fell for someone hard but the feelings weren't returned, something I think everyone has experienced and a common song topic.

It's clearly about a long distance relationship i.e: "You're over the atlantic". She's unsatisfied and needs reassuarance from the dude but she just isn't getting it, probably because he doesn't think they ARE in a relationship. It's in her head.

To me it's not even about a relationship; it's all about unrequited attraction. She has feelings for him, but he really only wants to shag and dash. She met this guy who was obviously from out of town, and she was interested right away, letting her attraction cloud the fact that he didn't feel the same way. Like you said, it's all in her head.

One journey for you and it's worth it- The journey for him is that he's on vacation and he'd score with the girl in the band. A vacation well worth it, he'd say! One journey for me and it's magic- The journey for her is that this guy from out of town falls for her, and they'd get to be together; a nice, magical, happy ending.

I could have written this song, it perfectly captures my experience with a guy who was over the Atlantic. He was nice and my mind wandered, but in the end he was just a guy on vacation. Man, guys can be real assholes sometimes. But Ladyhawke is great and her album is amazing. Go buy it now.

She's a lezbian BTW so theres no him lol.

I'm so shocked she doesn't have a ton of comments on here. I loveeeee Ladyhawke. New album out soon!

Is she saying 'over me and land it' or 'over the Atlantic'. I've always heard the latter, although what would she actually mean by that, being a Kiwi? She would have to be in either North America or Europe for it to make sense.
