If anyone can find it, there is an amazing version of Leadbelly singing this song. I've heard a few versions of it, but the only version that I think rivals Leadbelly's is the one by OCMS.

I can't get enough of this song right now. Seems to be about a man who loves a girl and the girl leaves him for an ex and never truly loved him back. I can't tell if CC Rider is the woman or the other man.

i like to imagine cc rider is a bad ass chic who rides a motorcycle. she was so bad ass that he fell in love with her then he realized she was already taken. She cheated on her husband / boyfriend with the writer. Bad ass bitch.

I think this song about falling for a taken woman. Everything seems fine until her husband/boyfriend catches on and she cuts you off. Your now left heart broken and lonely. Been there done that, this song teaches a lesson that struck a chord with me.
